When a house is like an organisation

You’ve got the right house but does the furniture fit? It’s a big old house but it has been modernised to a high standard. The kitchen is open plan and big with bi folding doors opening on to a secluded, mature garden which is low maintenance and best of all south facing. There are the required bedrooms some with on suite, the living room has generous proportions. It comes with furniture. But oh dear the furniture just isn’t right! There is a clash of different styles, a bizarre mix of modern and traditional, fussy and minimalist, industrial sheik  and farm house traditional, floral patterned carpets, curtains and wallpaper!

An organisation can have the right structure , the right proportions, the right policies and procedures, be well positioned. It can have state of the art technology and effective support services but if it doesn’t have the right mix of employees with the right combination of skill and experience, if they don’t work in coordination it just isn’t right .
