In a post apocalyptic world a boy and a dog wander the wasteland scavenging. The boy/teenager in the absence of parents or any adult is uneducated and governed only by basic instincts, the dog due to genetic engendering is well read, very intelligent and telepathic. That same genetic engendering has rendered the dog unable to forage for food. The boy is only concerned with food and sex he needs the dog’s ability to sniff out females. I like the idea that post apocalypse humans revert to a savage state but due to modern science the domestic dog has a superior intellect, it challenges our arrogance as a species. Plus as a dog owner I have often thought dogs have more humanity in them than many humans.
