Has anyone successfully taken land out of the Green Belt specifically for a G&T site? If so, what were your 'exceptional circumstances' for doing so please?

Hi Lorna,

I believe we did that for our G&T Site Allocations Plan in Solihull. If you'd like to get in touch pls email psp@solihull.gov.uk. Our website is www.solihull.gov.uk

Thanks,

Hi Lorna

I'd say need for pitches combined with evidence of no suitable alternatives e.g. a sites study making all reasonable endevours to identify sites (including public land, call for sites etc) and evidence that the impact on the purposes of Green Belt is relatively low, compared to alternatives (assessment by planner and landscape architect ideally).

I've undertaken numerous site assessments for Local Authorities, most recently Tewkesbury, so hope this helps.

Thanks

Paul
