Community Infrastructure Planning

Has anyone got a good example of a community infrastructure plan? We (Haringey) are developing ours (we are at the preferred options consultation stage of the Core Strategy). I am working on the evidence base for this at the moment, obviously we have strategies for different policy functions (i.e. Recreation / Open Spaces) which identify need / deficiency but was wondering whether anyone had worked out a reasonably robust template for the evidence base itself (which will then inform the Infrastructure Plan / Schedule)??

Re: Community Infrastructure Planning

For the PAS Infrastructure Planning and Delivery seminar series we ran in Nov/Dec 08 we prepared an infrastructure planning and delivery template for delegates, I think this will be of help. It’s on the PAS website http://www.pas.gov.uk/pas/core/page.do?pageId=98384 This page also contains a copy of the delegate resource book used at the seminars which contains more support material to help you prepare your infrastructure plan and an infrastructure planning briefing pack designed to help you introduce the subject to the senior managers and partner organisations that you need to work with in the infrastructure planning process.

Our District Council are conducting a similar exercise at the moment. We have recently sent the document linked below out to Consultation with members, town and parish council's etc http://www.midsussex.gov.uk/Nimoi/sites/msdcpublic/resources/RebuildingMidSussex%2Epdf

The Living Places Partnership - partnership of Government's cultural and sporting agencies has a Culture and Sport Planning Toolkit launched earlier this month. It is complementary to the PAS infrastructure step by step but is more focused on the community infrastructure, particular culture and sport. It has a 5-stage process - which follows the spatial planning process. It's at www.living-places.org.uk.
