Local Authorities acting as a Proxy Developer

Anybody know the rules/regulations/Acts that govern a Local Authority wanting to get planning permission and develop it out for a site that they own? Many thanks, Tony Hagan AHaganAssociatesLtd.com E: TonyHagan@AHaganAssociatesLtd.com

Re: Local Authorities acting as a Proxy Developer

My authority has just completed a major project in the town centre and is also building houses on its own land for social housing stock. the only rule I'm aware of is the normal one about the financial probity and that any application must be decided by the development control committee and not delegated.

Re: Local Authorities acting as a Proxy Developer

Roger, Many thanks. How about if a Local Authority wanted to offer its whole land portfolio to the market for development? Perhaps as a joint venture/ALMO? Kind regards, Tony Hagan www.AHaganAssociatesLtd.com TonyHagan@AHaganAssociatesLtd.com
