On behalf of the West of England authorities I am drafting a 'Local Strategy Statement' to be used as a tool to provide a strategic context/overview at Core Strategy examinations. It is likely to be a concise, high level narrative which explains how the authorities are working jointly with partners on strategic planning issues (as required by the Duty to Co-operate). This follows advice issued by the POS in March http://www.planningofficers.org.uk/POS-Library/POS-Publications/Planning-Post-RSS-Revocation---an-advice-note_31.htm I am interested in any views on the potential usefulness/scope/application of such a document in relation to LDF work and beyond, together with worked examples.
