NPPF - PAS self assessment checklist

We've now published this on our website for anyone to download. See www.pas.gov.uk It's a start. It won't tell you how compatible your policies are, nor how much weight you can give to emerging policies in decision making. But it should help you identify where, if any, your main risk areas are. We'll be developing work over the next few weeks on thinking about those risks and possible actions. I'd appreciate any feedback. alice.lester@local.gov.uk Thanks.

NPPF - PAS self assessment checklist

You refer to those policy documents listed in the NPPF as being replaced by the NPP, and say that, for example, Annex A to PPS7 remains. Are all annex's that form part of the PPGs/PPSs listed at Annex A superseded, or do all remain? Thanks Tanya

NPPF - PAS self assessment checklist

That is my confusion too, although i can see the logic with some free-standing companion / guidance notes beign retained, I can't see why those that form part of the PPSs/PPGs shoudl remain. Apologies, my second reference to Annex A shoudl be Annex 3 of the NPPF.

Re: NPPF - PAS self assessment checklist

One presumes that as it tails off on page 57 with only two words on soundness it is unfinished?

Re: NPPF - PAS self assessment checklist

Thank you for this which will be a useful start for us in assessing our adopted LDF policies against the NPPF. My question relates to the transition arrangements and how it is envisaged that adopted policies will be revised where this is needed to bring them into line with the NPPF. The preamble to the self assessment states that 'the transition arrangements give authorities with an adopted plan a year to get their policies ‘up to date’ (in conformity with the NPPF). Does this mean that there is a modified/shortened procedure being proposed for revising policies as opposed to the arrangements set out in the Regulations which take much longer than a year to get through? Or is that wishful thinking?

Re: NPPF - PAS self assessment checklist

@Tanyo and others - apologies and thanks. There was a typo (now fixed). It should have referred to Annex E (not A). So the annexes included with PPS/Gs, provided they are listed in the superceded list of the NPPF, have gone. It's the 'separate' bits that remain until we hear otherwise. @Andrew - no, it is finished. It picks up new things, not old things which are still relevant, hence it mentioning the new 'positively prepared' test but not the other 3 which are as before. @ Sarah - I understand that PINs are looking at this procedure, but Regulations are Regulations.........
