Good idea Paul. There are waste data networks/forums already in existence, but not specifically on DPD evidence base. The RTABs partly fulfill this role and I think could be a good vehicle for getting something set up. We attempted to get a SERTAB waste data subgroup going last year, but it lacked anyone to lead it. Since then a South East Waste Annual Monitoring Group Steering Group has been in operation, coordinated by Adrian Lee. There is a National RTAB Chairs group which focuses heavily on data issues, led by Rob Murfin (Yorkshire + Humber) and Deborah Sacks (EERA). Following a waste data meeting with Defra and EA last year, a work programme was drawn up; work on C&I waste forecasting has now been carried out for each region.
