Other than Blackpool, does anybody know of any or currently operate a policy specifically for specialist/supported housing and/or children's homes?
And if so, what if any evidence did you use/commission to create such a policy?
Was clustering a factor and did you implement this? Was this due to impact on amenities or character of an area and how did you evidence this?

Specialist and Supported Housing Supplementary Planning Document - Gateshead Council
We worked closely with our commissioning and Adult Social Care Teams and cosnult them on planning applications

New Member Posts: 3 Join Date: 08/04/24 Recent PostsThanks Emma. I did come across your policy when researching and found it really useful. I couldn't see that you had any specific clustering policy though, am i right? I.e. one provision cannot be within x metres to another etc.

New Member Posts: 2 Join Date: 17/09/18 Recent PostsDurham County Council have a policy relating to childrens homes and one for specialist housing. We work closely with our Children and Young Peoples Services department as well as the police. We don't have clustering within the policy, however, the homes proposed would have to be appropriately located, taking into consideration the distance from other childrens homes which are located in close proximity to the application site.
