Good planning websites (again)

A topic that comes round periodically. Simon from Sutton rang me (sorry I mistranscribed your number so couldn't return your call) asking for some pointers to what looks good right now. Given that the portal is doing a good job at being the one-stop for all for applicants, I suppose this is more about discovering and commenting on applications. Maybe even policy ? Anyone feeling proud of their work ? Please don't be shy.

Re: Good planning websites (again)

As a user, not a planner, the planning access website run by the Borough Council of King's Lynn and West Norfolk is one of the best. Everything is quickly scanned and available, making everyone's work easier.

Re: Good planning websites (again)

Yesterday a planning agent recommended Liverpool City Council's website to me as 'brilliant' - haven't had a chance to look myself properly yet but worth throwing in.

Re: Good planning websites (again)

Yesterday I was at a different session to Martin and someone asked me to arrange some kind of "get together" of web site bods. I think their concern was less about the applications front-end, and more about helping people navigate the planning process at its outset. Policy issues, making a good application, understanding the process of permissions and regulations generally. However I've just noticed a similar-sounding event organised by the portal: http://portaldirector.wordpress.com/2013/01/10/putting-the-user-first-designing-effective-lpa-web-pages/ Anyone got any views ? Any experience of [cough] channel shift strategies ?
