to any planners, officers or anyone involved in 5 year housing land supply

I'm a student in my final year studying University of the West of England, Bristol, my dissertation is based around the 5 year housing supply plan in which the title reads.. 'TO WHAT EXTENT CAN THE FIVE YEAR HOUSING LAND SUPPLY OF DELIVERABLE SITES BE ACHIEVED? A STUDY OF……… SEDGEMOOR, SOMMERSET COUNCIL & (YET TO DECIDE ON WHICH OTHER LOCAL AUTHORITY) i'd be delighted if anyone involved within the 5 year housing land supply plan could give any details about your own plan, the evidence required for the five year land supply figures? The affordable housing supply and how this affects viability of development sites? and possibly PDL/brownfield sites. Thanks in advance Clark Roberts

Re: to any planners, officers or anyone involved in 5 year housing land sup

Dear Clark I did something similar for my post graduate dissertation a couple of years ago. I carried out a critical review of the strategic housing land availability process which lead me to answer the question as to whether or not Council's could genuinely demonstrate a 5 year supply of housing land. I choose the topic based on my experience within the private sector and failure of many LPAs possessing the commercial expertises. Following the completion of my masters in 2009 I took up a temporary contract with Fareham Borough Council where I lead the SHLAA and 5 year housing land supply assessment - this gave me a chance to put into practice my reccommendations from my dissertation. I'd suggest that you have a look at the Fareham SHLAA and its methodology, I believe Test Valley are aware of its methodology because I spoke at lenght with one of their officers about various bits including how they could create a Housing Market Partnership. I attach a web-link to the Fareham SHLAA http://www.fareham.gov.uk/council/departments/planning/ldf/shlaa.aspx Interestingly Fareham has now submitted its Core Strategy to the SoS so by the time you have to hand your dissertation in the Core Strategy will have been through examination and the evidence tested. I suggest that this might be another good case study to use. If I can be of any further assistance please feel free to contact me on oliver.taylor@framptons-planning.com
