LDF enforcement policy

Given the uncertainty of what will happen when the new NPPF replaces PPG18 on enforcement, we are thinking about whether there will be a need for an LDF policy in our Core Strategy (or Sites and Policies DPD). Has anyone else looked at going down this route or seen any draft policies that might be helpful to look at?

I can't see any justification for having a policy in the LDF. You do need an Enforcement Policy but this would be a stand alone document. Ours is available on this linked page as an example http://www.uttlesford.gov.uk/main.cfm?Type=PLEN&MenuId=803 Taking enforcement action is not an LDF policy assessment but you do need to demonstrate you are following adopted procedures and assesing harm and inpact appropriately.

Thanks Andrew - it was an issue raised by colleagues and obviously we did not want to miss the boat and not put something into our LDF if needed. Will have a look at your approach and see if our enforcement colleagues already have something similar.
