There will be a Zero Carbon Hub workshop on Allowable Solutions, hosted at DCLG’s Eland House offices on Wednesday 11 May between 10.00 and 14.00. Address: Department of Communities & Local Government Eland House Bressenden Place London, SW1E 5DU As you may already be aware, the Zero Carbon Hub has responded proactively to the Housing Minister, Grant Shapps’, challenge to industry to come up with a “workable framework for Allowable Solutions”. In March 2011, with the support of DCLG, the Hub embarked on a piece of work designed to help facilitate the creation of a clearer picture of what key requirements industry and the wider stakeholder community would see as critical to the underpinning of a “workable” Allowable Solutions framework. This work is being led by Marco Marijewycz and will culminate in the production of a report which will be submitted to Government in order to inform their thinking around how a framework for Allowable Solutions could be designed, developed and deployed. The aims of this workshop will be to elicit key requirements in relation to Allowable Solutions from a diverse range of industry and stakeholder communities, as well as to ‘road-test’ some emerging thinking around a possible Allowable Solutions framework. The output from this workshop will feed into the Hub’s final report, therefore your input and active participation would be most welcome.
