Policies Map

New Member Post: 1 Join Date: 08/07/14 Recent Posts

We are currently working on producing a new Policies Map (our current Proposals Map is included in our Local Plan from 2001). I have seen the previous posts on here regarding producing this map (which are useful) but as I am new to this area of work I wanted to ask a few basic questions!

Is there a requirement to have a paper copy of the Policies Map, or is an interactive map sufficient? If a hard copy of the map needs to be produced I wondered how people had managed this, it seems unlikely that showing all the layers on one map would be legible? Are there any set scales for the map?

The PAS ‘Successful plan-making; Advice for practitioners’ says that the map should also show anything that is to be removed, not just what is being added. I wondered how people had found having to also show this information, particularly if there has to be a paper version of the map?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

RE: Policies Map

Hello

Our Policies Maps were adopted in July 2014. You can have a look and see how we did it.

You should check the regulations about displaying documents in accordance with regulation 35.

Thanks
