<p>I was wondering how people had interpreted re-roofing of a dwelling with roofing materials which were completely different in appearance to the original roofing materials on the dwelling. It appears under Class C ('any other alteration to the roof of a dwellinghouse') that there are no conditions requiring the use of materials which are of similar appearance to the originals. However, Class A does include such a condition (and covers 'other alterations to a dwelling'). So does the condition in Class A apply to re-roofing, or would it not be covered - leaving people free to re-roof dwellings without limitation on use of materials? Any advice would be appreciated.</p>
