<p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Hello Rob,</p> <p>The committee should behave in line with their constitution. Many will not record individual members votes unless is specifically required for a particular reason (usually to do with costs).&nbsp;</p> <p>So, it may not be possible to respond to an FOI because the information is not held.&nbsp;</p> <p>Start with the constitution and work back from there would be my advice.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

<span style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 17px; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">A client has asked me if he can FOI a LPA to indicate which way individual members of a development control committee vote. In this council he understands the vote is secret by pressing voting buttons not a show of hands. Would such a request have to be made to the chairperson before a vote was taken and would members have to agree? Or is it the public's right to know how councillors have voted? Anybody help asap.</span>
