<p>I'm not sure whether this post is in the right part of the forum but
hopefully someone can answer my question.</p>
<p>Where your existing Local Plan is over 5 years old, at what point can
you start using an emerging housing need/SHMA figure (rather than the
governments standard need figure which is much lower) when calculating
your 5 year land supply? After one round of public consultation, only
after examination or earlier? </p>
<p>I know the standard need figure is not a ceiling but having a 5 year
supply against the lower standard figure could be used as an argument
by objectors to resist development.</p>
