Core Strategy Time Horizon

Since the change to PPS12 and the requirement for Core Strategies to run for at least 15 years, is any LPA thinking of extending the time horizons of their Core Strategy (e.g. up to 20 years), perhaps to tie in with any review of the RSS?

Re: Core Strategy Time Horizon

Hi John - hope you are well! Our Core Strategy will have a lifespan of 20 years once adopted covering the period 2011 to 2031. However this is largely down to the fact that the Milton Keynes South Midlands Sub Regional Strategy has already identified a housing target for us for the period 2021-2031 and so we are using the Core Strategy to plan for this growth as well as the growth up to 2021. I would imagine that, as progress on the East Herts CS is quite slow, it might be pertinent to extend its lifespan up to 2031 as the RSS Review should be in place by the time your CS is adopted. Chris.
