<p>Not my area this and asking in case anyone has come across it. Can
you de-allocate/undesignate a 'Designated Neighbourhood Area' and if
so where is the mechanism set out?</p>
<p>I know you can extend boundaries, add in areas, merge them. But can
you remove them?</p>
<p>The issue is that we have an area which was designated as a
Neighbourhood Forum were going to do a Plan, but they then decided not
to and folded. So there is no Forum. No one to ask to remove the designation.</p>
<p>We are required by NPPF para 65 to set housing requirements for
designated neighbourhood areas but there seems no point in this case.</p>
<p>The group was set up to resist development rather than
support/promote it and they have now disbanded.</p>
