<p>I have had a few applications that propose to extend an existing annex or ancillary accommodation.</p> <p>The regs are clear in that a person can apply for exemption for a CIL liable residential extension, however&nbsp;it defines a residential extension as an enlargement to the main dwelling.</p> <p>Therefore I am unsure whether exemption/relief can be claimed for an extension to an annex/ancillary accommodation as I don't believe it would be considered as the main dwelling.</p> <p>I am also therefore unsure whether&nbsp;these types of&nbsp;extensions which are under 100 sqm&nbsp;are exempt under the minor development exemption, or whether this wouldnt apply because it is extending an annex.</p> <p>I'd be grateful for some clarification on this matter if anyone has considered the same issue.</p> <p>Many thanks</p>
