Published in September 2008, the report provides an evaluation of the grant scheme element of the South Yorkshire Inward Investment Programme (SYIIP). The grant scheme started in April 2002 and ended in June 2008. The aim of the grant scheme was to encourage inward investment into the South Yorkshire region and support a restructuring of the region’s economy through growth in the research and development base of high value-added clusters. The evaluation measures the impact of the grants as well as the strategic added value.
