Published in June 2019, this report provides an overview of digital skills and demand to inform the development of evidence based digital skills policies. There is a shortage of digitally skilled workers in the UK and this can be a barrier to applicants as 82% of online advertised vacancies require digital skills. The Report explores these findings within the context of eight clusters of digital skills and the geographical, industry and skill level differences. The Report outlines three implications from this research; applicants will need a complete set of skills to succeed in both digital and non-digital skills, digital skills policies should be locally based and that the required digital skills will change over time.
