Published in March 2017, the Report explores the role of Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) can play in supporting local energy projects and supports greater involvement and engagement to realise the economic, social and environmental benefits of local energy activities fully. To explore this topic, the Report is in 6 sections with 16 case studies of UK examples of successful local energy projects. The Report has nine recommendations LEPs can implement to promote local energy within their region which cover a diverse range of topics from encouraging private businesses to engage with local energy, working with public sector partners to develop local projects, harnessing local research and innovation and to grow LEP capacity to promote local energy activities.
