In February 2021, the National Infrastructure Commission published a discussion paper on natural capital and environmental net gain. This paper places an emphasis on the role of infrastructure developers to consider the impact of infrastructure on natural capital assets and to take the opportunities to contribute to the environment and biodiversity as part of the development.
