In July 2021, the Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) Select Committee published a report on levelling up: what it is, why it is needed, how it should be funded and delivered, and how it should be measured. The report then also provides conclusions and recommendations for the current Parliament, including calling for a bold and progressive Levelling Up White Paper, and a call on Government to set out what it envisages a ‘levelled up UK’ would look like and to agree a set of metrics by which progress towards this vision can be made.
