In January 2021, academic economists Gianni De Fraja, Jesse Matheson and James Rockey published research into the impacts of working from home on local labour markets and regional inequality. The Covid-19 heath crisis has led to a substantial increase in work done from home, which shifts economic activity across geographic space. This shift is referred to as a ‘Zoomshock’.
