In November 2021, the Office for Rail and Road published the Estimates of Station Usage 2020-21, showing a 78% decrease in rail station entries and exits between 2019-2020 and 2020-21. This was largely due to the impact and longevity of Covid-19. The busiest station in the North was Leeds Station, closely followed by Manchester Piccadilly.
