Less is more: Changing travel in a post-pandemic society
This report from the Centre for Research into Energy Demand Solutions (CREDS) argues that pandemic has had a permanent impact on the transport sector, breaking the link between economic growth and travel demand. This is a significant break from previous trends which will have major policy ramifications. The authors discuss these changes and make eight details recommendations for how to further promote the positive changes (such as the increase in walking and reduction in peak traffic volumes) and mitigate the negatives (the growth in LGV traffic, reductions in public transport use).
