Predicting CIL income to fund CIL officer post

Hi, I had a query about funding a CIL officer post.

We introduced CIL at the beginning of this year and hope to use the 5% administration portion to fund a CIL officer post.

I am wondering whether any other authorities are using the administration portion to fund a post and if so did they need to justify this to their finance teams in terms of predicting how much CIL they were likely to receive?

Hi Iain,

We had to do a business case and get approval from Finance and Senior Management before appoint the CIL posts.  We now have to do time recording to evidence the claim for the 5% admin fee.

Many thanks Claire. I think recording time is something my authority will have to do as predicting CIL income can be very tricky.
