SWDP abandoned! Legal status of work to date? - Public forum - Planning Advisory Service (PAS)

The South Worcestershire Development Plan is/was a joint local plan being developed by Wychavon, Malvern Hills and Worcester. A huge amount of work has been done to date, including two rounds of public consultations. Sadly due to 'issues' at Malvern, the whole SWDP process has been abandoned. Wychavon has walked away and will create iis own plan. So what's the legal status of the prior SWDP work? Are the documents, housing allocations and public consultations now invalid? Or can they be (partially) reused? Is there any planning law or precedent which covers this mess?
