Climate/sustainability checklists in assessing development proposals
Former Member, Addaswyd 3 Flwyddyn yn ôl.
Hi. Has anyone used a climate impacts checklist (or similar sustainability checklist) to assess development proposals? We're aware a number of councils use checklists/frameworks to collect information about the sustainability of a proposal, but does anyone use the responses to inform negotiations with developers and/or in decision making? Do they actually help to bring about more climate-friendly development? Does anyone set a requirement for a checklist directly in the policy (detailing how responses will be used)? They often seem to form part of validation requirements, rather than being explicitly included in local policy. Just interested in anyone's 'practical' experience of them. Thanks.
