Hello, we are exploring an option in our emerging Local Plan which would require developers to make a financial contribution to the Council in circumstances where they are unable to deliver the required employment provision within a proposed mixed use site. This contribution will be used to fund off-site delivery of a comparable employment provision elsewhere in the district, preferably Council owned land.

We would like to know if other local authorities have implemented this or a similar policy. We are specifically looking for a methodology on how to calculate what the financial contribution should be on any given site. Any guidance, sign-posting or general advice would be greatly appreciated.
