Stephen Hawkins warned that the full realisation of Artificial Intelligence could spell the end of the human race. But, after attending a robotics challenge in which most robots couldn’t open a door, much less carry out other similarly simple tasks, Rodney Brooks  MIT professor and pioneering roboticist recommended, “If you’re worried about The Terminator, just keep the door closed.” So could the real risk be over selling the smartness of AI? Having too much faith in AI. For example the use of AI in recruitment.

 If short listing is about getting sufficient ticks in the boxes identified in the PS then AI will be much faster, more consistent and not put off by a large volume of application to process. However it’s a myth that AI removes the risk of  bias or discrimination. AI systems can reflect biases in the data they are trained on, which can lead to unfair or discriminatory outcomes. 

If we listen to some commentators it is only a matter of time before we recognise the superior ability of AI and put them in charge . While AI can assist and augment human leadership in various ways, it's unlikely to replace human leaders entirely. AI can excel at tasks like data analysis, automation, and generating predictive insights, but human leaders remain essential for complex tasks like strategic planning, motivating teams, and navigating uncertainty.( and opening doors) 

A computer can never be held accountable ,therefore computers should never make a management decision.
