Who in your team will go into management?
Goalkeepers should make good managers, goal scores are too selfish and one dimensional , midfield generals already think they are the manager ,defenders often end up as managers.
The reason I think goalkeepers should be good managers is they cope well with pressure, they organise their defence, they can maintain concentration for long periods of inactivity, they are resilient because they know they must bounce back after “letting one in “. They also have a longer playing career than outfield plays so plenty of time to acquire wisdom which is probably why most decide not to go into management.
Maybe you can predict who in your team will go into management and who will make a success of it. The goal keeper who would make a good manager but doesn’t want the hassle. The star performer who assumes they would be a natural but hasn’t a clue. The midfield general who would do it differently and is always saying so. But if they were in charge wouldn’t tolerate people who think they know better than them. Then there is the defender, competent, experienced not particularly ambitious and so far not inspirational but solid.
Or maybe it is going to be that hopelessly naive work experience youth who is tech savvy and on a fast track to the first team.
