Guide

Guidance from the Office for Artificial Intelligence for civil servants on how to use automated or algorithmic decision-making systems safely. The framework includes seven steps: testing to avoid any unintended outcomes; delivering fair services for everyone; clear information about responsibilities; safe data management; helping citizens understand how they are affected; legal compliance; and building something that is “future-proof”.

This seems really helpful guidance to me.  Step 5 in particular brings a transparency that I think could really help - although I'm not sure how it would work in practice (having tried explaining a neural network credit score approach to HSBC managers in an earlier life!)
