Research
This paper builds on research conducted by Transport for New Homes in 2018 into transport links and active travel in new-build residential developments across England. This paper builds on the analysis in this previous paper, finding that similar issues of car-dependency and congestion remain whilst highlighting more successful, walkable communities such as Derwenthope in York. The authors also publish a set of detailed recommendations to Government and local authorities on how to better bring planning and transport together, which gained a positive response from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities.
