Does any Council undertake financial checks of people applying to go
onto their Self-Build Register, in order to ascertain the applicants'
ability to raise / guarantee the necessary finances to carry out their
proposed self-build project?
How are these checks undertaken, e.g. are they done 'in-house' (how?)
or through an external body (if so, who?) ?
How much (officer time / fees) does it cost to do such a check?
Are they a one-off check, or do they need to be repeated periodically?
It may be too early to ask this, but have the checks proved accurate
(i.e. have the properties been delivered)?
