TEEP Top UP 2 on Questioning

Attached is a padlet which resulted from our No Hands Up day last week on 1 December. The TEEP Top UP session (whole staff meeting) was run in two parts the day before. The first was an activity on hinge questions and why these are so critical to checking the learning before moving on. Time was given to develop a hinge question for a really difficult topic that each teacher was preparing to learn.

The second half was really fun. The lead practitioners created a pub quiz based on questioning. Each question based on questioing was asked in a different way to show case no hands up. Staff were sat on round tables as teams. We used plickers, kahoot, pass the parcel, whiteboards etc to showcase as many different techniques as possible. There was of course a very cheap prize..a bottle of fizz for the winning team which added to the fun.

It created a wonderful excitement in the room though teachers are way harder to manage than Y8s and the Lead Practitioner team had to work hard to stop the excited chatter!

I will send the pub quiz out if you want me to share this and please share what you are doing too

Hi Would you let me know how you set up the padlet - where did staff post their thoughts - what have you set up to enable this to happen? Looks great too! Thanks Claire

Hi Claire Setting up a padlet is really easy to do. it is free and staff electronically post their thoughts. We displayed ours on the Intranet - you can create PDF or images of the posts as an alternative. Have fun! https://padlet.com/
