Public Sector Information Principles published

The Information Principles for the UK Public Sector have just been published on the Cabinet Office website

with endorsement from the Knowledge Council, CIO Delivery Board, CIO Council, and CTO Council.

 These ‘principles’ represent seven key outcomes that public sector organisations should be seeking to achieve in the management of their information.

LeGSB supported the Department of Health to create the document by leading on workshops and surveys.

The National Archives are now working to publish and maintain a resource base of guidance, authoritative sources etc that aims to support the implementation of the principles.

Departments will now be asked to phrase their Open Data strategies ensuring the the implications of these principles are covered.
