Older People & Digital Inclusion Day

Older People & Digital Inclusion Day

Starting 01 October 2015 10:00 through to 01 October 2015 14:30

To celebrate Older People's Day Cheshire East Council, Connecting Cheshire and Life Links are holding an Older People & Digital Inclusion Day aimed at anyone working or volunteering with older people. The event will showcase inspiring services and projects across Cheshire East that you can benefit from or signpost clients to. Here are just a few of the great  things you will hear about:

  • Digital Learning Champions’ Project - Connecting Cheshire
  • iTea & Chats – CE Council Partnership Team
  • Accessibility – Disability Information Bureau
  • Alone Fone Pilot - Life Links
  • GransNet Cheshire’s online carer forums
  • Our Digital Offer - Cheshire East Libraries

The Tinder Foundation will also share the findings of their NHS Widening Digital Participation programme which aims to reduce health inequalities by increasing digital inclusion. They assert it has the potential to engage people in their own care, realise cost savings for the health service and drive positive health and wellbeing outcomes.

We will finish the event with two optional hands-on sessions. The first is aimed at anyone who’s been given a tablet for work but isn’t confident using it. Don’t worry, help is at hand! Bring your tablet and someone will be there to help. The second session is for anyone wanting to get to grips with Windows 10.
