Research in Practice worked with CIB to host eight regional seminars on the Family Justice Review. These complemented the publication of a new resource “Evidence matters in family justice” designed to support professional, robust and credible assessments and court reports. The seminars were supported by the Family Justice Board and local family justice boards. The seminars aimed to: Address delay by improving the quality and timeliness of decision making at all stages in the case Reduce the courts’ reliance on expert witnesses to provide evidence on issues which should be covered by the local authority social worker’s report Build inter-professional confidence and understanding of the respective roles and expertise of those involved in the family justice system. The introductory presentation from Research in Practice is attached.
