- Description
- A debate in the House of Lords about the potential for Digital Proof of Age. This debate was in the context of an opposition proposal to enable licensed premises to accept digital proof of age for a period of six months. This was as part of the emergency response to the Coronavirus and in the context of regulatory easements for pavement licensing, etc. In the end, the opposition did not move the amendment, but the Minister reiterated the Government's commitment to supporting the development of industry standards, which would enable a future change to legislation.
