This guidance has been produced by the Association of British Insurers (ABI) and the National Flood Forum (NFF) and is aimed at Local Planning Authorities in England, for use when producing Local Plans or dealing with planning applications in flood risk areas. It is designed to be considered in the context of the National Planning Policy Framework, issued by the Department for Communities and Local Government on 27 th March 2012. The framework sets out the Government?s vision for planning in England, focusing particularly on sustainable development and local decision making.
