Innovative Theatre

Change. But not really.

We love the idea of innovation.

We just don’t like what it does.

Real innovation breaks things. It creates losers. It makes existing systems look stupid. It threatens people who were winning under the old rules.

So we manage it.

We build labs. Run pilots. Celebrate ideas. Contain the impact.

Innovation becomes something we visit. Not something we live with.

It’s controlled. Sanitised. Safe.

And completely harmless.

Because the moment innovation gets real—really real—it demands trade-offs. Stop this. Kill that. Back this instead. Accept the fallout.

That’s when enthusiasm fades.

Because innovation isn’t a creativity problem.

It’s a loss problem.

What are you willing to give up?

If the answer is “not much,” don’t worry.

You’re not trying to innovate.

You’re trying to look like you are.

And we pretend not to notice.
