Launch of Family Nurse Partnership Scotland Microsite
In 2024 we have launched a new microsite for the Family Nurse Partnership programme in Scotland.
The microsite will enable FNP families to learn more about the programme by collating key information in one place. It will also enable family nurses to share their experiences of the partnership.
Professional Diploma in Family Nursing - Graduation Ceremony
The first group of family nurses from Scotland graduated with the Professional Diploma in Family Nursing on 13th June 2024. This is the first diploma for FNP internationally and a huge achievement for the NHS Education for Scotland team. We would like to extend our congratulations to all graduates and staff on working towards this well earned achievement.
NHS Education for Scotland Podcasts
The Family Nurse Partnership Scotland education team have created a series of podcasts.
Each podcast explores a different aspect, or theory, within FNP practice. Guest speakers reveal key insights and messages to integrate into practice. Each episode offers something to take away from your headphones to your home visits.

Family Nurse Partnership Natural Experiment Study
The Family Nurse Partnership Natural Experiment Study was published on the 8th October 2024 on Cardiff University’s website. The study reports on outcomes for women and children who had received FNP and a comparison group who had not, between January 2009 and March 2016. The report shows positive results for mothers and babies who had received FNP in areas of public health importance, such as breastfeeding and reduced exposure to second hand smoke.
