This one-and-a-half day event is a peer training session, which the LGA is running to support its new health and wellbeing challenges with a childhood obesity focus

These challenges involve peer teams working four days onsite with a council and its health and wellbeing board partners. The training will introduce peer challenge, the work and competencies involved, through a simulated challenge, giving peers real insight before participating in live challenges. This will be the first training that includes the childhood obesity module which will be offered as a direct response this national issue. The training also offers networking opportunities with likeminded, enthusiastic colleagues.

Who should attend?

  • directors of public health
  • directors of children's services
  • directors of communities
  • clinical commissioning group representatives
  • heads of Service for wellbeing or other services supporting the wider well-being agenda
  • childhood obesity specialists with an interest to become a peer
