Communications professionals have experimented with social media with varying levels of success over the last few years – but what next? Social media isn’t a fad and it’s not going away; it should be directly meeting corporate targets - whether reducing fires, catching criminals or providing a better, more efficient and direct customer service.

Isn’t it time we move beyond social media as a superfluous communications tool and put it to work at the core of the organisation?

This one-day conference aims to demonstrate how social media can be effectively utilised to deliver operational change both for employees and for the people who use public sector services. London Fire Brigade hopes to attract an audience of senior officers from other blue-light services, senior management delegates from across the public sector, and local authority representatives.
