Training - Food Contact Material Advanced

Events - Public

Starting 05 Dec 2012 - 00:00 through to 07 Dec 2012 - 00:01

The European Commission Directorate-General for Health and Consumers is organising a programme of training courses on Food Contact Material within the Better Training for Safer Food (BTSF) initiative. The courses for inspectors will take place in Vilnius, Berlin and Lisbon during 2012/2013. There are 2 different courses: one basic and the other advanced.

The main objective of these three-day sessions is to provide training on food contact material (that is to say all materials and articles intended to come into contact with foodstuffs), their use and marketing.

All the courses will be in English. As with all the training offered through the BTSF initiative, there is no charge for participants. All costs including, travel, accommodation and meals are covered by the EU.

The UK has only been offered a handful of places overall. Participants are required to disseminate the knowledge acquired during the course within their local authority team, so should be in a position to do so. Nominations need to be supplied to the organisers as quickly as possible.

If you would like to apply for a place at one of these courses, please contact robert.pilling@foodstandards.gsi.gov.uk as soon as possible.

If you have any other queries about this opportunity, or indeed other training courses offered through the Better Training for Safer Food initiative, please contact Bob, either at the e-mail address above, or by telephone at 020 7276 8436
