The move towards Functional Skills qualifications has brought with it particular challenges to family learning providers. Relevant to Family Learning providers, managers, coordinators and tutors, this one day training explores the challenges faced and aims to develop practise in embedding Functional Skills in family learning provision programmes.

By the end of the day participants will have; developed their understanding of the essential elements of Functional Skills; identified key similarities and differences between the Skills for Life and Functional Skills; identified appropriate assessment methods for family learning and Functional Skills; shared and developed ideas for embedding Functional Skills with family learning; identified benefits and challenges for practitioners and learners in Functional Skills in family learning provision; and, developed an action plan for embedding Functional Skills in family learning provision.
