Course Description:
This one day CPD training has been developed in response to a Survey of providers delivering skills provision for unemployed adults (NIACE, 2011) in which eight in ten providers surveyed said they found it difficult to support learners exhibiting challenging behaviour.

This training aims to introduce managers, practitioners and support staff to vital behaviour management and support approaches that can be applied within provision for unemployed adults.

By the end of the day participants will:
-be familiar with the common types and underlying causes of challenging behaviour
- know how to structure provision, design learner intake processes and develop learner induction approaches as well as draw upon a set of principles arising from behaviour control theories, to minimise the risk of challenging behaviour
- and be familiar with individual approaches to support those who exhibit more serious forms of challenging behaviour or repeated instances of challenging behaviour.
